In this post, I’m going to talk about peppermint oil and children, in other words, is peppermint oil safe for children?
The answer is absolutely yes, if you’d like to use peppermint oil for children, it can be extremely safe, and it can also increase their health and comfort level tremendously, however, you need to know how to use it, and most importantly, you need to be extremely careful when preparing peppermint oil for children!
If you use too much, it can cause and increase lots of symptoms and also cause different side effects, which I do not want to happen to your child.
I have two beautiful daughters, they are my daylight, they are very funny, so helpful, and loving.
From time to time, they may suffer from skin problems, from acne to certain rash, which is very normal.
Well, guess what? I use peppermint oil for my children as well and kids love it, it smells very nice, and using only a small amount will get you fantastic results, and this is what I’m going to share with you in this post.
So, the first important thing you need to understand about using peppermint oil for children is that you will always need to dilute it.
Yes, this is very important for you to understand, if you are counting on using pure peppermint oil for children, then, you are making a huge mistake because this is only going to increase side effects and problems, well, I want you to always dilute peppermint oil, not just this fantastic oil, but every essential oil you would like to use on children, it needs to be diluted.
When it comes to peppermint oil, here is the right ratio for you to use:
If you’d like to use peppermint oil for children’s skin or hair, then, you need to take two drops of it and mix them with one teaspoon of almond oil.
Then, simply apply for a maximum of twenty-five minutes, then, rinse using warm water or even better, I want you to use a dry paper towel and get rid of as much fat as possible.
This is by far the right way to use peppermint oil for children.
What about ingesting peppermint oil?
Well, it should be avoided as much as possible, you are dealing with an essential oil after all, it’s extremely powerful, it contains lots of dangerous chemicals for our stomach and intestines, and more importantly, some children may have very weak stomachs, so, avoid ingesting peppermint oil as much as possible, it’s the worst thing you can do, especially if you have very young kids, this can be extremely dangerous.
So, just dilute peppermint oil with a carrier oil, in my situation, I prefer to use almond oil, and simply apply onto your kids’ skin or hair, it’s more than enough to get rid of a lot of issues.
