Can you give lavender oil for children to drink? The answer is absolutely not!
I keep getting a lot of questions in this website about different essential oils, trust me, most of the time, I answer with the negative because a lot of people simply don’t know what they are doing!
They may imagine that lavender oil and other essential oils are completely safe when it comes to their health and even worse, when it comes to the health of their children and loved ones!
Needless to tell you that this is completely false, after all, you are dealing with an essential oil, it’s extremely powerful, it can cause lots of irritations and lots of troubles, and most importantly, if you don’t know what you are doing, you may even affect your health and that of your children permanently!
Lavender oil should never be used orally, it’s very powerful and it can cause lots of gastric and intestinal issues and side effects.
Among which are the following:
- Stomach cramps
- And even worse, blood in stools
This is just to tell you that you are dealing with a very powerful compound, and whether you dilute it in other carrier oils doesn’t help it a lot, in fact, lavender oil is always powerful, and it can always cause you lots of troubles, especially when used internally, so, avoid giving your children lavender oil to drink, it’s just dangerous in my opinion.
