I don’t want to scare you, but using essential oils in general and lavender oil in particular can be very scary, especially knowing the fact that it’s very powerful and can cause some skin irritation and lots of itchiness if used wrongly!
What do I mean by using lavender oil wrongly?
Well, when you use it directly onto your skin, it can be very devastating and damaging to your hair follicles in particular and to your skin in general, don’t forget that it contains some very powerful compounds which can be extremely pro-oxidant, so, just stay away from using it directly, and only use my technique, here, I’m going to show you the right ratio in order to use lavender oil on your face, trust me, with such a delicate part of your body, you need to be extremely careful, and always use a carrier oil, this is very important for you to understand:
Yes, a carrier oil, such as olive oil or almond oil is going to dilute lavender oil and prevent it from damaging your skin, more importantly, because we are dealing with a very critical and weak part of your body, your face, you need to be very careful not damage it, because using too much lavender oil can make it sore and also extremely inflamed, red, so, just stay away from using it directly.
So, here is the right ratio to use lavender oil on your face:
Simply take a quarter of a teaspoon of lavender oil and mix it with one drop of tea tree oil, then, I want you to take one teaspoon of almond oil and mix everything very well, on a daily basis, for a maximum of seven consecutive days, I want you to apply just half a teaspoon to your face.
This is very important to respect because if you exceed seven consecutive daily uses, you are going to notice huge discomfort in your skin, and if you have very weak skin, you may even have developed allergic reactions to lavender oil, this is the reason why I always ask my readers to experiment with lower amounts, in this case, using a quarter of a teaspoon of lavender oil is going to show you exactly whether you are going to tolerate it or not.
